Terms of Use — Kyoto Honne Quiz

These terms govern your use of Kyoto Honne Quiz ("the app"), provided by Robonet Communications inc. ("we"). By using the app you agree to them.

1. What the app is

The app turns well-known sayings and folklore about how people speak in Kyoto into a quiz, for entertainment. The scenes, the phrases and the commentary are written to be read and enjoyed. They are not intended to mock any real person, organisation or place, and they do not claim to describe or represent how any particular person actually speaks.

Several of the explanations record one account among others. We do not warrant their scholarly accuracy or that any phrase will be understood in the way described in an actual conversation.

2. Price and purchases

The app is free. Removing ads is the only paid feature: a one-time purchase made through the App Store or Google Play, at the price shown in that store.

If you change device, or delete and reinstall the app, use "Restore purchase" in Settings. As long as you are signed in to the same store account, nothing is charged again.

Refunds follow the rules and process of the store you purchased from, Apple or Google. We cannot issue a refund directly.

3. Advertising

Unless you have bought the remove-ads feature, the app shows a banner at the foot of the screen and one full-screen ad when a round of ten questions ends and the result screen opens. Nothing interrupts a round in progress.

4. What you may not do

  • Copy, modify, decompile or reverse-engineer the app
  • Reproduce or redistribute the questions and commentary without our permission
  • Circumvent the purchase mechanism by any improper means
  • Anything unlawful or contrary to public order and morals

5. Intellectual property

The questions, commentary, design and software in the app belong to us or to their respective rights holders.

6. Disclaimer

We do not warrant that the content of the app is accurate, complete or fit for any purpose. Except in cases of our wilful misconduct or gross negligence, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app.

We may suspend, change or discontinue the app without notice.

7. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms. A revised version takes effect when it is published on this page.

8. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the law of Japan. The Kagoshima District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance over any dispute arising in connection with the app.

9. Contact

Questions about these terms may be sent to dev@robonet-c.jp.
