Robonet Communications inc. ("we") provides the application Kyoto Honne Quiz ("the app"). This policy describes how information is handled in the app. We comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan and other applicable law.
The app is designed for people aged 13 and over. It does not restrict use by age, but it is not directed at children under 13, and Google's Child-Directed Treatment setting is not applied to its ad requests.
The app has no accounts and no sign-in. We never collect your name, email address, telephone number, date of birth, or any other information that identifies you.
Your best score, the titles you have earned and your chosen display language are stored on your device alone. None of it is sent to any server of ours, and we cannot read it. Deleting the app, or using "Erase your record" in Settings, removes it from the device.
The app uses Google AdMob to show banner ads and full-screen ads. The full-screen ad appears only when a round of ten questions ends and the result screen opens. To serve and measure those ads, Google processes technical information such as the advertising identifier, device information and approximate region. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
On iOS the system asks, once, whether the app may track you. That permission is used only to make the ads you see more relevant to your interests. If you decline, nothing about the app changes: the same questions, the same features, the same record. You can change your answer at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
If you use the app from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, a consent form is shown when the app first opens, using Google's User Messaging Platform. You can change your choices from that same form at any time.
Removing ads is a one-time purchase made through the App Store or Google Play, and its state is managed using RevenueCat. Payment details such as card numbers are held by Apple and Google directly; neither we nor RevenueCat ever hold them.
For the purposes above we entrust information to, or share it with, the following. All of them are located outside Japan.
| Service | Purpose | Information shared | Country |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Serving and measuring the ads | Advertising identifier, device information, approximate region | United States |
| RevenueCat | Managing the state of the one-time remove-ads purchase | Anonymous user identifier, purchase state | United States |
| Apple / Google | Distributing the app and processing payment | Payment details, which we never hold ourselves | United States |
Google AdMob uses information not only on our instructions but also for its own purposes, including serving ads, preventing fraud and improving its services. To that extent, sharing with AdMob may constitute disclosure to a third party under Japanese law.
Beyond the above we disclose information to third parties only with your consent, where required by law, or in connection with a transfer of the business. We never sell information.
We take appropriate measures against loss, damage and unauthorised disclosure, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Because the app keeps its record on the device, we hold essentially no user information ourselves.
Comments, complaints and requests for access or deletion may be sent to dev@robonet-c.jp.
We may revise this policy. A revised policy takes effect when it is published on this page. Significant changes will also be announced inside the app.
